“Government Warning: Cigarette Smoking is Dangerous to your Health”, is this campaign effective enough on Cigarette Packs or Holder?

Public Observation

If you are a keen observer, specially if you are smoker, you noticed on every pack of cigarette label the words “Government Warning: Cigarette Smoking is dangerous to your Health” or “Government Warning: Smoking kills”. These words may vary from brands or Countries regulating the use of Cigarette. What is important about this warning, when you light up a cigarette and start puffing the smoke you are regularly informed about the possible dangers of smoking, which means you are liable to your health.

In Reality

Every year, one of the major cause of death worldwide is the addictive use of cigar or cigarette that leads to Lung Cancer and Smoking related illness. Is the warning label on cigarette pack really effective enough in the campaign of minimizing the mortality rate of people caused by smoking?

Conclusion

All countries, Government implementing body should have the political will and come up with other alternatives to address this imbalance. Cigarette Manufacturers earns a huge cut every year while many people die from their product every year. Warning labels on cigarette packs, cases and holders should not be used as a loophole by the cigarette manufacturer in warning the public. I Just wonder, what if Marlboro and Philip Morris have on their label ” Government Warning: smoke at most 2 stick a day to reduce smoking risk”. My sure guest, The mortality rate of death by smoking will decrease as well as to the income of Cigarette Manufacturers which they do not like.

The photo shown from the left post is a circle backlash symbol which is the accepted “no symbol” by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). By using this sign, the red area must take up at least 35% of the total area of the sign within the outer circumference of the “prohibition sign”. So 35% of everything within the outer edge of the “no symbol” must be the symbol itself. This means that when using this prohibition symbol, any image shown must be inside the circle and backlash.
